Rosé wine: aromatic lightness
Rosé wines are true all-roundersand inspire with their lightness and freshness. Do you love the fruity aroma of a red wine, but don't want to miss out on the lightness of a white wine? Then rosé is exactly your thing. In the CorkRebels shop we offer you a hand-picked selection of rosé wines that impress with their quality, taste and unbeatable price-performance ratio.
Rosé: The wine that fits everywhere
Rosé is the ideal wine for many occasions. Its refreshing lightness makes it suitable for a relaxed barbecue with friends as well as for a stylish dinner. Imagine a hot summer day sitting on the terrace and enjoying the “Mas La Roca Rosado” – its fruity aromas of berries and citrus fruits harmonize perfectly with light dishes such as grilled vegetables, fish or seafood. If you are looking for something fresh and tangy, then the “Lagarto Pintado Fresh Edition Vinho Verde Rosé” is the perfect choice. This rosé brings a crisp freshness in the glass, which goes perfectly with grilled chicken or summer salads.
For a romantic evening with your loved one, we recommend the “Paladin Pinot Grigio Rosé”. Its elegant character and the fine aromas of strawberries and raspberries are the perfect accompaniment to Mediterranean dishes such as pasta with seafood or antipasti.
The best food companion for rosé wine:
- Light appetizers: Rosé with a crisp salad, carpaccio or bruschetta brings freshness to the table.
- Grilled vegetables and fish: A fresh rosé goes wonderfully with grilled fish or vegetables such as zucchini and peppers.
- Italian cuisine: An elegant rosé wine like the “Paladin Pinot Grigio” harmonizes perfectly with pasta or pizza.
The Art of Manufacturing
The production of rosé wine is a real art and requires a delicate touch. It all starts with the grapes: winemakers often choose red wine grapes such as Pinot Noir or Syrah. These are not completely fermented as in a red wine processed, but only briefly brought into contact with the shells. This process, the so-called maceration, provides the delicate color that makes rosé so unmistakable. The longer the maceration time, the stronger and more intense the color becomes. But the color is not everything - the taste also develops through contact with the grape skins.
In the production of rosé, the grape varieties play a crucial role, especially during the mash phase, in which the Weißherbst gets its fine color and structure through gentle contact with the grape skins. Many winemakers rely on the classical maceration or the saignée method. The latter means "bloodletting" and involves drawing off part of the must during the red wine production process. This produces a strong, full-bodied rosé wine that is particularly aromatic. These methods guarantee that only the best of the grapes ends up in your glass.
Rosé wines from the best wine regions: France, Spain and more
The best rosé wines come from the renowned wine-growing regions of southern Europe. France and Spain in particular are known for their rosé wines. In France, Provence is the heart of the rosé art. The wines from this region are known for its lightness, freshness and elegant fruit aromas. A highlight from our range is the “Mas La Roca Rosado”, which delights with aromas of strawberries, raspberries and a subtle citrus note.
Spain, the land of the “Rosado”, produces strong and aromatic rosé wines. Typical for Spanish Rosados are intense fruit aromas that go perfectly with tapas or grilled dishes. The "Lagarto Pintado Fresh Edition Vinho Verde Rosé" from our shop is a prime example of the freshness and effervescence that characterizes Spanish rosé wines.
